Privacy Policy.

Effective August 24, 2022 · last updated July 26, 2026. What we collect, why, what we do with it, and the rights you have - in plain language.

You are important to us. Your privacy is important to us.

When you visit our site, you should know exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. This policy walks through all of it in plain language. We update it whenever the way we handle your data changes or applicable laws change - the "last updated" date above tells you when we last touched it.

Information we collect

Personal information is anything that can identify you: name, email address, physical address, phone number, title, occupation, industry, and similar details. We only collect personally identifiable information when you choose to give it to us - for example, when you fill out a contact form, apply for a job, register for a webinar or event, or subscribe to our insights.

If you submit personal information, that submission is subject to this policy and you consent to its terms.

Like most websites, we also collect some information automatically: pages visited, time on page, and your IP address. This tells us which parts of the site are useful and which need work.

Cookies (of the non-chocolate-chip variety)

Parts of this site use cookies to understand traffic patterns - which pages help people and whether our navigation actually works. A cookie is a small data file a website writes to your device; it can contain things like a user ID used to recognize repeat visits.

You can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, or refuse them entirely. Most of the site works fine without cookies, though a few actions may require them.

Analytics and third-party tools

We use standard analytics and marketing tools (for example, web analytics and our CRM) to understand site usage and manage conversations you start with us. These tools process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy obligations. We don't sell your personal information. Full stop.

Notice and consent

When we collect personal information, we tell you at the point of collection why we're collecting it. We won't share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except as described under "When we share information" below.

For direct marketing, we use opt-in wherever we can - meaning we ask before sending you marketing - and at minimum you can always opt out. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link that actually works.

How we use your information

We use personal information to respond to your requests, deliver services you've asked for, personalize your experience, and - if you've opted in - keep you posted on things we think you'll care about: new insights, webinars, product announcements, and offers. We may also use it to better understand what visitors need so we can build a better site and better services.

When we share information

We don't share or transfer your information except in these cases:

  • Service delivery. When you sign up for something a third party helps us run (an event platform, a newsletter service), that provider receives what it needs to deliver the thing you asked for.
  • With your consent. If you tell us it's OK, we can share it.
  • Legal requirements. If required by law - a court order, subpoena, or cooperation with law enforcement or regulators - or in urgent circumstances to protect personal safety, the public, or our websites.
  • Business changes. If Inventive merges, reorganizes, is acquired, or sells all or part of its assets, personal information will in most cases transfer with the business as part of that transaction.

Data security

We protect your personal information with physical and technological safeguards. That said, no one can guarantee the security of data in transit over the internet, so please take sensible precautions - use a secure browser and don't send us anything you consider highly sensitive through a web form.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it to us, or as required by law. When it's no longer needed, we delete it.

Your rights

Want to know what we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted? Ask. Contact us and we'll handle your request. If you're in a jurisdiction that grants you specific data rights (like the GDPR or CCPA), we'll honor them.

Children's privacy

This site is for businesses and professionals. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make substantial changes to how we use your personal information, we'll post a notice on this site. We may also (but aren't required to) notify you by email.
